In Southeast Alaska traditional culture, and in many other cultures, the story of where someone or something comes from is an important story. These stories are called Origin Stories because they are about where something or someone originates or comes from. Origin Stories are told all over the world.
In Tlingit culture, there is a story which tells of the origin of the sun, stars, and moon. This is a creation story by the Tlingit people who have inhabited this land for thousands of years. Watch this video below to learn this story!
